 - For almost two decades, Michael Potter (Null Zone, Serrated Tapes) has been releasing music and noise as The Electric Nature. Birthed as a home-recording project, The Electric Nature has gone through several phases and iterations, congregating multiple full band lineups, each with a different sound and M.O. 

These days Potter usually plays solo, sometimes with added improvisers, with the sound leaning toward a mix of psychedelic noise and cosmic industrial. The Electric Nature's latest album, Plastic Mind, is available from Already Dead Records and streaming on select services.

 - North Carolina based MC/producer & founder of the hip-hop collective Free The Optimus (FTO). The 2-time Carolina Music Award winners (2015 & 2016 Best Hip Hop Group) developed their following & relevance through an unrelenting tour & release schedule, largely driven by Shreve's vision. The Professor moniker references his 12 year career as a university professor teaching biostatistics, which coincided with his rise and success as a rapper during the blog era.

 - Charleston, SC’s 2023 Hip Hop Act Of the Year, the Yasiin Bey (fka Mos Def), Lupe Fiasco, Nas, Phonte Coleman, and Amel Larrieux influenced recording artist is one of the most dynamic nascent creators in the genre. And while that's apparent in his critically acclaimed music offerings (2010's "Delayed Entry EP" and 2023's "Wayfare, Vol. 1" EP), the Chicago-born rapper and classically trained musician's uniquely interactive live performances might be the defining reason he stands out in an increasingly crowded creative space.

Nathaniel Rappole’s solo project, GULL, was conceived on an endangered wildlife preserve in Front Royal, VA in 1999, and has been publicly active since 2007. GULL has recorded a 7", 6 EPs, 3 full lengths, and has traveled vigorously—playing venues, on the streets, and in the wilds across the globe. GULL's brand new full length Relative Stranger was released on August 21, 2020.

Best described as a drum; a living, breathing drum of flesh on fire that cries out assorted tongues of creatures past and delivers it from a single unique perspective; a communal music broadcast of blood and bile left as an offering on the altar of sound.

INFINITIKISS is an ever-evolving musical and visual recording project conceptualized by Nic Jenkins, featuring a revolving ensemble of curious and experimental artists, musicians, and performers.

WEREWOLF HOURS - Werewolf hours is a group of two pairs from Asheville, NC. Luke and Bryan used to play together a million years ago in Los Angeles. Miles and Chadwick have played together for most of their lives. This band is a weird amalgamation of all of their styles. We play frenetic post-punk psychedelic garage rock... stuff.  - XAMBUCA does not really exist in the material space time continuum. Instead, XAMBUCA conceptually feeds on the subconscious figment of a host's imagination; a host that has a tendency to encounter its name or symbols in passing by mere coincidence.

 - an improvised experimental soundtrack project fusing noise textures and ambient sounds, based in Marshall, NC. The project made its live debut in 2009 at an experimental music festival, featuring bios+a+ic (Wesley Davis) and bahiya (Lia Petteway). They are currently recording their 8th album at symbolic insight studios. 

The duo has played numerous clubs in Denver, CO and since 2022 has found receptive audiences in Asheville at The ODD and 27 Club. üsA has performed at many unique events, most notably, transistor sound art festival, Denver Noise Fest (Denver, CO), Art for the People (Boulder, CO) and HARSH fest (Seattle, WA).

Formed in Hudson, NY by former Screaming Females bassist Mike Abbate alongside Quinn Murphy and Jenna Fairey, this poppy trio combines loud distortion, raw spirit, and infectious melodies in a way that feels primal yet carefully constructed.

Dauber is like a crude painter, daubing blobs of paint on canvas in a messy yet deliberate burst of creation. Their debut album, Falling Down, doesn’t shy away from its rawness. It’s a celebration of imperfection. Recorded in collaboration with the ever-adventurous John Hoffman (Vacation, BEEF, The Mimes), the album’s production captures the grit and energy of a new band finding their sound. From the ear-splitting opening chords of the title track “Falling Down” to the lamenting last chorus of the final track “Memory Lane,” Dauber delivers a strong debut album full of exuberant hooks, crunchy guitars, pounding drums, and a healthy dose of chaos for all the rock and roll freaks of the world. Pacific Northwest and Los Angeles-based group LAKE has been an indie rock institution since their formation in 2005, bringing endlessly curious musical exploration to their distinctive brand of soft rock.

Today, the trio of multi-instrumentalists Ashley Eriksson, Eli Moore, and Andrew Dorsett continue a singular path with their most recent LP Roundelay on Seattle label OFF TEMPO, adding Balkan and British folk rock influences, odd time signatures, and adult contemporary aesthetic to their already singular sound: whispered lead vocals, gentle romanticism and sly funk.

It was fellow Northwest recording artist Karl Blau (now Philadelphia-based) who became the band's first producer and champion through his subscription-based underground music series KELP. In 2010, the band found a wider audience when Eriksson contributed "Island Song (Come Along With Me)" to the end credits of the hit Cartoon Network show Adventure Time. 

In their now almost 20-year-long career, they have released a series of consistently classic albums, including four LPs on seminal Olympia-based label K Records.

Conspicuously idiosyncratic, the "LAKE sound" has slipped through a handful of genre designations even as it has evolved from early influences, ranging from avant-garde and indie-pop to "experimental pop" and "elevator punk" (an invented genre based on a joke from a friend of the band.)

Their new album, Bucolic Gone, will be out March 7, 2025 on Don Giovanni Records.

Kennedy Mann

Mamalarky’s tenderly tangled indie rock has the internal logic of ridiculous jokes shared between band members after spending weeks on the road together. The sum of friendships and collaborations dating back to their teenage years, the band melds flashy instrumental moves with head-sticking hooks and lovesick lyrics welcoming anyone into their private world. 

While Mamalarky are ostensibly an indie-pop group, they stand out from the laid-back melancholy moods of contemporaries with complex instrumental interplay that inspires lean-forward listening.

Kennedy Mann’s compositions strike you in the heart and linger like a bittersweet memory. Her latest full length, Maybe Tomorrow, arrived in October of last year on Julia’s War Recordings. But her journey as a songwriter began with Philadelphia-based band Highnoon’s first album, Semi Sweet (2019), a project consisting of homespun pop-rock tunes. She and her band went on to open for artists like Leith Ross, Horse Jumper of Love, and Frankie Cosmos. As Kennedy continued to write, she quickly became memorable for her poignant lyricism, tender vocals, and sharp melodic skill on stage and online.
